I am a Senior Lecturer in journalism and have been an academic now in various forms – but mostly in Higher Education – for around 20 years. Prior to that – I started young and didn’t go to university! – I spent nearly 20 years as a journalist and broadcaster, later manager, in commercial, BBC and forces’ radio services. Most of this was in radio but I did do some TV.
Since entering higher education I’ve done research, presented work at conferences both in the UK and abroad, had paper-reviewed publications and all that jazz, and had two books published; the first of them co-authored. Full details on my Amazon page.
On the personal side, I have been married for over 30 years to the most amazing, intelligent, beautiful and supportive woman anyone could wish for, and we have a clever, kind and good-looking son (obviously gets his looks and much of his brains from his mum!).
I live in a small, semi-rural village in west Lancashire, in north-west England. Thanks for stopping by!
